Wanted: Old Me
You used to be an achiever.
You had big dreams.
You wanted to be a writer to tell stories.
You wanted to be a musician to share your songs.
You wanted to have a high-paying corporate job.
You wanted to travel the world and experience cultures.
You wanted to hike the mountains to be close to nature.
You wanted to take dance lessons.
You wanted to play the piano and the drums.
You wanted to learn photography and capture life's moments.
You wanted to get better at swimming.
Somewhere along the way, you got lost.
And now what?
You keep saying, 'Life happens.'
But YOU make it happen.
You are not dead yet, are you?
You're not getting any younger.
But there is still time.
Let this be another reminder.
Do the things you want while you still want to, before it's too late.
First, be healthy.
Then get out of the room, breathe and let yourself run wild.
Write a quote.
Post one of your recorded songs.
Show up to that interview.
Explore a nearby city.
Sit in the park and observe.
Attend a free trial for a dance class.
Go to a concert.
Take a solo photowalk.
Take swimming lessons.
It doesn't have to be grand.
You just have to start.
And while you're at it, cherish the moment.
You never know if you’re doing something for the last time.
Just feed your curiosity.
Rediscover the vigor you once had.
Go meet the old you.
He's waiting.
