Unpredictable game
"Life is an unpredictable game", says the shirt I saw the other morning on my way to work.
Game
Lately I've been thinking of ways to gamify life. Things I could do to break the routine. I'm imagining missions, objectives, side quests and power-ups. Sounds shallow, but could be proven useful if done intentionally. Life is already boring and tedious. Let's make it more interesting.
Unpredictable
Someone very close to me recently lost one of her best friends. It was sudden and devastating. She was young, only in her early thirties. They spoke just a few days ago, and now they never could again. There's no way to escape mourning when it comes to death. And the only way to move forward is to grieve.
I'm learning that reframing is a good coping tool. It's like looking at things from another perspective or point of view, whether positively or negatively.
We go through the motions of life like a game. We experience the pain and loss of death, then celebrate afterwards. Maybe heaven is a good place for souls to go after all. Maybe it's the story we tell ourselves so the burden of loss becomes easier to carry.
Whatever works.
